Autóval és komppal Győr felől 1680–1830 km és 19–23 óra, Budapest felől 1800–1950 km és 20–24 óra, Debrecen felől 2030–2200 km és 23–27 óra az út, a kompátkeléssel együtt. Portorosából Milazzo és a Lipari-szigetek déli része egy hét alatt bejárható Észak-Szicília partja mentén. Stromboli vagy Panarea bevonásakor több időt kell hagyni az átkelésre és a visszatérésre.
